I created this as a community project to help Carterton swap food and goods — saving people money and reducing waste. My hope is that over time the community gets better at responding to each other's needs, and more resilient local systems can emerge.

Home bakers and cooks can be rewarded for their hard work with things they actually value. Each week, members list what they have to offer and what they're looking for — the platform finds the matches.

I've deliberately kept this free to use, and the source code is open for other developers to adapt for their own communities. I think this kind of small-scale local trade can take real pressure off people during a cost-of-living crisis.
